LadBrokes Review

Football betting might see more advertising nowadays, but we can assure you of one thing: wagering on horse racing is still incredibly popular, and that isn’t changing any time soon.

Most major bookies worth their salt don’t just provide plenty of races to bet on, but also offer promotions for the sport of kings too. It should come as no surprise – given that they’re one of the biggest names in the industry – that Ladbrokes follow suit.

One of Ladbrokes’ most famous horse racing promotions is its Extra Places offer. Let’s take a look at exactly what it entails, and how you can use it.

Ladbrokes Extra Places Offer

Extra places promotions became popular in the first place for a reason. It’s because they’re extremely valuable for horse racing bettors.

For any newbies out there, many bettors prefer to bet ‘each way’ on races, rather than simply picking the winner. You still choose one horse to bet on, but each way bets have two parts – ‘win’ and ‘place’. If your horse wins… you win, at the original odds. If your horse ‘places’ – i.e. finishes within a certain range, often 2nd-4th depending on the number of entrants – you get your money back plus a small profit, usually 1/4 or 1/5.

The Ladbrokes Extra Places offer does what its name suggests. It makes it easier to hit on the ‘place’ part of your each way, by expanding the number of spots. Where you might normally only place by your horse coming 2nd, for example, Ladbrokes might make it possible to place in 3rd as well.

Every single day, Ladbrokes offer Extra Places on two separate races. If you’re a frequent horse racing bettor, it would certainly make sense to target these contests.

18+, UK+IRE only. Applies to bets placed on selected races from 6 p.m. the day before the race. Minimum runner stipulations apply. T&Cs apply.

Ladbrokes Extra Places Terms and Conditions

There aren’t many T’s & C’s at all for the Ladbrokes Extra Places offer. Essentially, if you have even a basic grasp on each way betting, there will be nothing to catch you out here.

These are the only restrictions on the promotion:

Ladbrokes Extra Places Terms and Conditions

  • Extra Places will be offered on two selected races each day
  • If minimum runner requirement isn’t met, standard place terms apply
    • E.g. if an Extra Places race is supposed to have 12 entrants, and only 11 run, standard places and odds apply
  • Applies to bets placed on selected races from 6pm the day before the race

How to Get the Ladbrokes Extra Places Offer

We’re guessing the Extra Places offer sounds pretty good to you already. Well, quite simply… it is! There’s nothing to dislike here, and one of the best things about the promotion is how easy it is to use.

Ladbrokes Extra Places Examples

If you’ve got prior experience of placing each way bets, you’ll have no trouble whatsoever here. The only thing you must remember to do is ensure you’re betting on an eligible race.

If you’re a rookie… don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Here are a couple of examples of how you might use the Extra Places offer.

Place Example

  • Go to the Extra Places promotional page
  • See that the 14:30 at Hamilton is eligible
  • It’s a six horse race, which normally only places 2nd. Because of the promotion, it’s placing 2nd and 3rd, at 1/5
  • Click the link to see the markets for that race
  • Select Kashagan, at odds of 10/1
  • Tick the ‘E/W’ box in the betslip
  • Set a £1 stake, for a £2 total stake, and hit ‘Place Bet’
  • Kashagan finishes 3rd
  • He has placed, because of the Extra Places offer
  • Return £3, for a £1 profit

Losing Example

  • See that the 20:20 at Wolverhampton is eligible for Extra Places
  • It’s a 12 horse race, paying out four places instead of three
  • Take Rambaldi at 14/1, on an each way, for a £2 total stake
  • Rambaldi finishes fifth
  • The bet loses, because – even with the enhancement – only the top four places paid out

18+, UK+IRE only. Applies to bets placed on selected races from 6 p.m. the day before the race. Minimum runner stipulations apply. T&Cs apply.
